Recent
studies reveal that regularly eating garlic
and onions can significantly reduce risk of
many common cancers. One study, published in
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,
examined 10,000 cancer patients and 15,000
healthy control subjects from southern European

such as garlic and onions, and the risk of
several common cancers.
Another large-scale study, The European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC), followed more than 520,000 individuals throughout 10 European countries. Researchers found that an increase in the intake of garlic and onions of 10 grams a day was associated with 30 percent reduction in the risk of intestinal cancer.
